AS OF LATELY

Yes, I have been writing.

I am not neccsaarily having a fun time (my holidays have been great) However, the film Tiny Furniture directed by Lena Durham’s as inspired me a great load, if I do get an interview and I am asked ‘So Eli what inspired you?’ I would probably say after watching Inglorious Basterds but Tiny Furniture made me take action’. In other news, I wish to see where my writing takes me…. Lets keep wishing for the best.

Clueless winner “) “/ “.

Imagine this scenario, receiving an email stating you won a competition. You have no account of how you was selected and where exactly you entered…. This happened to me. To be honest I was in glee when I recieved the email, but I actually thought it was a hoax! But I am very happy, I am quite a lucky person I guess. I like recieving parcels!!

Additionally, I have been re-arranging my wardrobe and the state of my room is in disorder! I also have entered a film competition, and I have been filming rather shenanigans. The future is somewhat uncertain so its best to focus on the present but with an eye on the future. Thats my current state of mine.

Bull In The Heather

It has not really come to a surprise that people may have thought of me as weird/unique/rude/funny and every word that you could possibly describe. But I think I have come to terms of me, being different. Like you and everyone else….we are all unique and special in our own way. Latetly, I have been self reflecting and foreshadowing. I hate being so brief, but I am really snoozy and I am totally changing the layout of my blog. But Daria, is somewhat of a phenomenon. It sounds so weird but I actually see bits of myself in her, and I am definately sure I used to watch episodes of Daria whilst growing up and thought, wow, this lady dresses cool but is so moody. Total embody of myself. Not at all, am I suggesting that I dress cool, but funnily enough lately I have been selling chunks of my clothes on eBay. Getting moneyyy ££££!

‘Bull in the heather’ is a song by the incredible Sonic Youth. I have been listening to a lot of Fiona Apple too. 90′s music was so incredzzz. But, I am glad that I am born the year I was born because I am not so OLD and can also experiment and listen to all types. Plus if I was born in the 80′s then…I just can not imagine it, but it did have COOL fashion. Disco music!! Donna Summer. I remember my mum playing her old tour videos, and me being in encapsulated by the bright LED lights and her outlandish hair and outfits. Groovy. Do you remember Pretty in Pink? Totally love the film, I watched it eariler this month, and I am obsessed with 80′s films. I will keep you posted in what I have been watching soon enough!! Ciao.

Oscar 2012: It’s Showtime.

Indeed it is, I am happy with the nominations, particularly the lead actresses and supporting female actresses nominees. No doubt, Meryl Streep will win for her role in Iron Lady. Viola Davis, is nominated too, she is an incredible actress, however it seems the roles I see her in movies, Doubt and Solaris she potrays quite moody and ‘spacy’ characters. Best Picture? Shit, I have not seen any nominees. But it seems The Artist will win.. no I think Tree of Life is likely too. One name. Leonardo DiCaprio, why is he not nominated for J.Edgar? He did not even win his Golden Globe nomination?! Nominated for 3 Oscars, and won…*none. I recently read Tribeca’s interview with Lynne Ramsey. “Katheryn Bigelow, makes a guy’s film. I think that’s outrageous. I think I’m just as good a filmmaker as any of these guys out here, technically speaking”. However, I agree with her to an extent, but 2009, Katheryn Bigelow became the 1st female to win best director, 82 years since the establishment of the Academy Award. Although I guess I am quite of a feminist, not to Caitlin Moran brillant standards, but the role of the women should be celebrated. However, since Steve McQueen is a fellow Black British, I think he should have got at least some recognition. Shame (18), although I am too young to watch, the reviews and people I know who have seen it, speak very highly.
